Riding Jacket
An armored jacket for motorcycle riding — protection from abrasion, impact, and weather.
What is it
A riding jacket is specialized motorcycle outerwear with integrated armor and abrasion-resistant material. It's not just a jacket — it's protective equipment that can prevent serious injury in a crash.
How it works
The outer layer (leather or textile) protects against abrasion when sliding on asphalt. Armor at shoulders, elbows, and back absorbs impact. Textile jackets often include waterproof membranes and thermal liners. Leather excels at abrasion resistance; textile is more versatile in weather.
What to look for
- CE Level 2 armor — shoulders, elbows, back (CE Level 1 minimum)
- Material: leather (abrasion), Cordura/Kevlar textile (versatility)
- Fit: snug but not restrictive. Armor must stay in place
- Ventilation — critical for summer riding
