Group Riding
Riding in a group of motorcyclists — additional risk from peer pressure, mixed skill levels, and limited visibility.
What is it
Group riding is when multiple motorcyclists ride together. It's fun but adds risks: social pressure to ride above your skill level, limited visibility behind bikes ahead, mixed skill levels, and pack mentality.
How it happens
A less experienced rider tries to keep up with the group. Speed increases, maneuvers get more aggressive. A mistake they wouldn't make solo happens due to pressure. Or someone in the group makes an error — and the chain reaction affects others.
How to reduce the risk
- Ride YOUR pace — better to fall behind than to crash
- Strategy: «we all meet at the next stop, not racing there»
- Ride with groups at your level — not with experts if you're a beginner
- Staggered formation — gives space and visibility for everyone
