Hello.

Are you about to buy your first bike? Already in motorcycle school and someone sent you here? Or did you stumble onto this project by accident?

Either way — welcome.

You probably have a lot of questions right now. Motorcycling is a huge world, and there often isn't anyone around to answer them. I'll try to cover the most urgent ones.

The best way to level up fast: soak up as much knowledge and footage as you can. Start with the Critical Skills section and work through the main crash types.

Two topics deserve special attention:

Quick Start Plan

1. Master the basic skills

To ride confidently, drill these techniques:

  • Emergency braking — stop the bike in the shortest distance possible, even from 60 mph (100 km/h). And check whether you're making any of these common braking mistakes.
  • Slow-speed control and balance — city riding is lane splitting, stoplights, and tight maneuvers. Practice balance.
  • Cornering — understand lean angle and line choice.

Full breakdown: Critical Motorcycle Skills.

2. Pick the right motorcycle

Your first bike should be light, manageable, and low on power. The goal isn't to impress anyone — it's to stay alive long enough to become a real rider.

3. Invest in gear

Gear saves lives. Don't cheap out on:

  • A certified helmet.
  • A protective jacket, pants, gloves, and boots.

Recommended online stores: RevZilla (US) and FC-Moto (Europe).
